That had to be a nasty repair.....er restoration reset as it turned into.

The result was a guitar that picked up considerable acoustic volume with a way better neck angle that is solid as a rock.

Had to be in the "nightmare" section of neck re-sets.. It's amazing when a neck has a bad joint what a good re=set will do! It's like a new guitar. I had a Les Paul that had a neck set with white titebond and then I had it reset with Hide Glue and the difference was stunning.

The biggest challenge was rebuilding the tenon section of the dovetail. After I removed the neck the mahogany was dried out like toothpicks with almost nothing holding it together. The only real way to make it right was to remove the heel cap and dovetail in a new tenon.
