56 Round Up — Engraved Hump-Blocks (?!?)

1

NFI.

I don't ever recall seeing Western engraved hump blocks. And on a Round Up with G brand and blank horseshoe headstock. Arrow knobs and a shiny Melita. Yum.

Edit: Just checked Ed Ball's Gretsch 6120 book and 1950's Gretsch Manual : no mention of these. Also, there were no '56 Round Ups. The 1955 #167xx batch did have humpblock markers; maybe this is one of those.

Wow have never heard of that before. One off, or fake?

changed tuners the truss rod cover seems off. also it seems pretty clean but what do I know

Looks like a mortise and tenon neck joint, so possibly an early reneck job.

Yes I think this is looking like a 57' reneck. I also think the western inlays look right too..they engraved falacon and penguin hump tops so why not western.
