I added a second pickup to this guitar for a local client. Great guitar and sounds killer.

4

Bigsby would have been added later? I don't know the early ones that well.

5

Yes. It is a newer bigsby. I think Bob had a local dealer instal it.

PS anyone want to guess what guitar is being repaired in the background?

Epi Al Caiola?

You are correct sir! 1966 Epi Al Caiola. Replaced the headstock on that one. Just need to spray the neck and blend.

That curved control cavity is a dead giveaway

10

Wow. It looks super cool.

Looks so cool without a cutaway! If you still have the guitar there, I'd love to see a profile view of the that addition!

Guitar is back with the client. Not sure what view you are looking for. Pickup was period correct clear bobbin short bezel. The guitar had heavy flamed maple sides and back. I cut/notched the original guard using the same technique as the factory.

I had a '56 just like that one except sunburst. Single neck pickup got it done. Just a great-sounding guitar. It's the one that got away.
