I'm curious, does yours have the "Chet Atkins" logo on the pickguard? I have a '60 single cut with a plain gold guard, and have seen a picture of one other with a plain guard. I think I have only seen pictures of one, maybe two other double cut 6121's. A rare guitar for sure, as I think it was discontinued in '62...(??) Welcome aboard!

I am sure there was one also on Ebay earlier this year which belonged to a professional musician. There was a thread about it I recall.
Nice guitar Double Trouble I hear the twin cut Jets play really good.

Here is a pickture of my father playing the guitar on a saturday night in the garage among friends and family this was taken in 1988 I promise all my new friends here on the forum that ill take a heap of photos and post them here for you like i said after 46 years of use and caring for it ,the binding is starting to come loose the scratschplate is full of cracks ,the guitar is in need of a new fretboard as it is worn ,but i dont want to restore it ,i want to keep it as is ,some might say im crazy not to restore it but im very attached to it ,dont play it at gigs as im scared it gets stolen ,But im having another idea not sure if one can discuss that here ,just to say i bought some wood and gretsch hardware ,and im in the process of building myself a replacement .What do you guys think of that idea ?

How bad is the fretboard? Most of the times it can just be planed a little. Paul Setzer here is the man to see about pickguards.

Double Trouble said: some might say im crazy not to restore it...
I don't think anybody here will say you're crazy. Other than whatever rehabilitation is necessary to make a guitar playable, most of the folks here are not fans of radical restoration.
