Hey Paul, I think the finish on this could still be original. I think I've seen others with model #6196 that were actually two tone or some other custom finish. I think Gretsch did this sometimes, like a Cad green duo jet might have a Jet Firebird model #, or a Gold Sparkle Jet would have a Silver Sparkle model # ETC

This Club on Ebay is being described as a '62, but has no mute system. I'd love to know what the serial number is to find out where it falls relative to Setzer's new baby. The dark sunburst finish is interesting too!

Ed, it also doesn't look like a thin line. I'll bet its not a '62, Larry

Wonder if that is what one of these colors looks like after aging
This ones a 1964 two-tone jag tan topped Annie. Its the color of the back and sides that has me wondering.

KC & roger, maybe that is a later fatter one. Notice how the Filter butts against the fretbrd and the tuners.
otter, I did some research a couple of weeks ago and saw that same link that you've posted. The back color of that Annie looks close to the hidden areas on my Club. But is that color Jag Tan like the ad states? I asked KC in the custom color or refin thread (and before I know) about Jag Tan being solid or Metallic, and it's metallic.

Thanks for posting that Billy. Nice old Corvette!
Well I can definatly rule out Jag Tan.
The two tone Anniversary on frettedamericana tahat otter linked us to looks like the stock color that my Club used to be. So what do you call that combo?

Otterbean,
That Annie on the Fretted Americana site has an Ivory top, and Copper Mist back/sides. These are around, although not common. Jag Tan was never associated with the Anniversary model, and in fact wasn't used on any Gretsch after '56.

Thanks TM! I've been playing it every day. It was a wild surprise for me too when I had it in my hands for the first time, peering into the F holes, and unsnaping the back pad and seeing the bracing(It didn't have the plastic cover plate. I had to make one).
