What are you listening to right now?

  1. At this moment, I am listening to my mixed playlist of Richard Hudson's Gospel tunes, and Forrester Sisters Gospel tunes. They make me tear up some, but I really love them.

  2. The Devlins - Sunrise

  3. Darrel Higham ,High Class Baby, the album.Currently playing track 5 Rocket Trip.

  4. The Association for Cultural Equity's Alan Lomax recordings. . .free at http://research.culturalequ...

  5. i only really listen to music when i'm driving nowadays...the heavy rotation in the truck lately has been Hot Shots 2 by the Beta Band, the "Feed Me With Your Kiss" and "You Made Me Realise" EPs by My Bloody Valentine, a compilation disc i made up of tracks and single b-sides from Amnesiac and Hail To The Thief by Radiohead, and Taking Tiger Mountain (by Strategy) by Brian Eno. i just got back from the store and was listening to "Knives Out" and "Hail to the Thief" by Radiohead..."Knives Out" cracks me up, which used to really offend my ex.

  6. Wayne Hancock; BRMC; & Highway 13

  7. A Neil Young marathon. Seemed like time.

  8. I have been revisiting the old ANIMALS stuff, Gram Parsons' albums GP and the Grievous Angel...and some Old Byrds stuff... gotta love the reissued Sweetheart of the Rodeo Album with all the Gram Parsons tracks on it....wow...

  9. At this very moment I'm listening to the album we did when I was with "The Alamo String Band" and listening to the Telecaster player saying, I wish I could play like that guy. Man, my chops have really suffered since I became ill.

Alamo had real potential but sadly, drugs and alcohol really took their toll on two of the members. I was not one of them by the Grace of God.

It was one of the few bands that I worked with that did mostly all original material. The bass player/front man wrote some really great stuff and was quite prolific with his writing. Unfortunately he was the worst victim of both the drugs and alcohol.

  10. Bear, I'd like to hear that.

  11. I'll step it down from vinyl to MP3 and post a few of the tunes. I have one of those ION turntables that allow me to do that. The mandolin player in the band was exceptional and could really sing high harmony like Don Rich.

  12. Just finished Bob Marley & the Wailers Live, now listening to Cold Blood's eponymous first album.

  13. A few moments of blessed silence............

  14. My Cavilier King Charles Spaniel snorring loudly under my desk.... 8-o

  15. best of Link Wray.

  16. Spiritualized on "The David Letterman Show."

  17. the Beach Boys on "Jimmy Fallon." they sound raggedy and need the backing singers to hit the high notes for them, but still it's touching to see them up there together.

  18. Jack White - Blunderbuss.. He's so frikin cool!

  19. The Gliders - Clear Blue Sky

  20. The Quakes - Quiff Rock 8-)

  21. Jackie Lee Cochran,She's Mine All Mine.

Taken from his album Fiddle Fit Man.

  22. Recordings of some songs I have to learn for a gig next week — True Love Ways (Holly), Mack The Knife (with umpteen key changes), Telstar (oh gawd).

  23. Killing Joke: In Cythera.

  24. Chuck Berry. (Again.) "Uh-huh, oh yeah." "Almost Grown" is as relevant today as the day he wrote it.

  25. Gil Scott Heron. Randomly songs from all records (specially "Back Home").
