Either sell it yourself or wait while your save your pennies to buy the new guitar and keep this one as a spare, but don't trade it in. Trading in is basically allowing them to take it off your hands.

GB,
My experience with both venues advises you go Ebay before Craigslist. Much better market there. Not to imply Ebay is infallible, but at least they make their members register, and offer some recourse if the deal goes badly. You're better off selling there for a myriad of reasons.
Craigslist isn't much more than an unregulated electronic yard sale. It's loaded to the hilt with scammers.

Oh man, don't buy from GC unless you HAVE to. Give one of the GDP sponsors a try. Quite a lot of happy customers here.

If you don't have the energy or time to sell it yourself the traditional way, you can always go the eBay route, and then if all else fails, trade it in. I made out pretty well in my last two trades. I traded an early '80s Fender Concert amp and I can'tremember what else for a 1967 Gibson EB2 Bass. At the time it was only $750 and now it's worth around $2500. I only had to put up $200 cash. On another trade, I gave up a Vox Phantom reissue, a vintage Grestch guitar case and $900 cash for my '63 Fender Jaguar (now worth around $4000). Not bad...

I got the shipping box today. There was no hesitation from the salesmen about letting me have it. I will be using eBay for the sale. As for buying, I just might check with one of the sponsors.
