  1. i was just installing adblock software and noticed there's a 'catblock' setting that replaces ads with pictures of cats.

  2. Which reminds me, I got to post the pic of our new kitten we got from the shelter. Deed will love her!

  3. That particular software works very well Bax. I'm pretty sure that's the one I use that removes ads from youtube vids as well.

  4. Is this the Chrome add-on? Are you using simple Adblock or Adblock Plus?

  5. I just saw a version that replaces pictures of babies (i.e. your friends baby posts on fb every 2 minutes) with cats.

  6. What would we do without her?

  7. Is this the Chrome add-on? Are you using simple Adblock or Adblock Plus?

I have no idea if this exists for Chrome. It's Adblock, but I use it for Safari. I'm sure it must be extensible to the Chrome browser too.

  8. Yep, BD. I see it as an add-on for Chrome. But, is the version that works so effectively for you the simple version or the "Plus" version? I really would like to get rid of the annoying YouTube ads.

  9. Does that get rid of the ads on the page, or the ads that they now embed into the videos before they start?

  10. I use the simple version and it works very well. Hermitt, it does indeed remove the embedded video ads on Youtube.

  11. Hmmmmm ... when somebody comes up with a program to replace ads and pictures of babies with pics of guitars, THEN I'll be interested.

  12. I downloaded it and, indeed, it does strip those annoying embedded ads from YouTube videos. Great. Thanks for posting about this Bax and Bonedaddy.

  13. I just found the simple adblock version for IE9 :D

  14. You might also want to check out this 'consumer opt-out' page that will scann your browser and allow you to opt-out from these advertisers. It's amazing how many seem to 'sneak' in!

  15. shoot I thought it was something to make my cat stay out of the house.

  16. also worth mentioning: if you're on a real browser -- not IE -- you may want to consider blocking third-party javascript. basically, if the javascript isn't coming from the site you're on, it's suspect.

  17. if you're on a real browser -- not IE --
