This forum has always been there for who ever need it , for what ever reason; it's a shame we have a major member (Bear), who is afraid to post on here about what is going on in his life because because of a couple of members who don't want to hear about his medical problems......for those members..Get A Life! Bear has been more than a friend to most of us, he's family! Bear, you have told me about the bad news you recieved the other day, DON"T be afraid to share it on the forum here. I don't own or run this forum, but I have been here long enough that MOST of the members here love you and want you to keep them up todate with your health. PLEASE keep us informed with the going on's about your health!

There is always a few PITA people on every Internet forum...
Just IGNORE them, these bottom feeders thrive on mayhem and Internet feuds. I belong to another forum about this size and when a troll rolls in, we don't even acknowlege them.
Just ignore them and they go away quick as there is "no food" on the plate.
Do Not respond to any post from them, no matter how flamey or ridiculous... seriously.
Hey Bear, How ya doing?

I don't think he's so much afraid as just giving respect to this site and it's members. Bear is like a big brother to me. He emailed me as well, with his recent dilemma and I consider it an honor to be on his list. It is sad that he has been made to feel uncomfortable about this sort of thing. I , for one, have no problem with him or any other of my GDP brethren/ sisters sharing their personal issues on here. I only wish that Zuma had made things a little clearer before we lost him.
I voted you up as well, Jukebox.

I say we keep voting Jukebox up until Bear feels comfortable about posting things like that on here again. What say ye?
-
Ripley1046
I told Bear the same thing when I responded.
Steve, we want you to post here about this stuff man. Don't worry about a few people that don't like it. Unless Bax says you can't, to hell with the rest of them!
Seriously man, keep us posted, and stay well brother. We're here for you.

Good grief.
Some people like to put other people in boxes. If Bear doesn't want to talk here at least he does have some people he can e-mail. I'll just keep you in my prayers Bear.

Something I was just thinkin' about. Many of us Gretsch fans are products of Gretsch's Golden Years and have owned at least one Gretsch in the 50s or 60s.
And....that make us.....OLD!
And old folks wear our.
.......And old folks tend to talk about their health cuz it's one thing(other than Gretsch)that we old folks all have in common.
...what the heck; I got outta the Hospital last Saturday and haven't been able to play Guitar for a WEEK Now! Bummer!(maybe tomorrow?)
So if they're REALLY LUCKY; the youngsters who are complaining today will get old one day, and OUR Great Grandkids with their Gretsches, can complain ABOUT THEM!

Vote up here. Miscellaneous Rumbles are.......miscellaneous. Hope all is well Bear!

Of Course!
"Whosoever would compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain"!
If everyone really did that (that is, fully listened and reasonably discussed with everyone any and all subjects to more than fulfill the desires of others) we'd really have Peace on Earth and Goodwill towards all Men, Women, and Children on the Planet.
It's those who refuse to do that that cause all our woes (and their own, especially their own).
Peace!

Wow, Tom. Well put.

Thank you, Suprdave!
Good Luck, Bear!
And Jukebox: Thank you - for bringing this up!

Voted up, good point.

I agree whole heartedly.
Maybe we should ask Bear to put us all on his email list.

I am certainly appreciative of all the support, however, it is also my intention not to cause anyone discomfort about talking about something they object to or find distasteful.
Mike, I appreciate you starting this thread very much, but for my sake, please let it die.
Peace has been made and I do not wish to open old wounds. One person who had a lot to offer no longer posts here because of being upset over my health issue posting.
These folks are right, a public forum is not the place to air one's personal issues. I never considered this before because I have made so many friends here, but it is inappropriate.
I sincerely thank you all for caring so much, but please let this thread die so I do not alienate anymore people.
God bless you all... Bear

Bax, Maybe we need another area called: "Personal Issues - enter if you dare, enter if you care. Otherwise, don't look."
Prayers for you Bear

Well, Bear, this isn't only about you. It's about all of us, as musicians, good, bad or in between. I always felt this forum was here for support if it's your health, the welfare of a bunch of kids in guitar clubs or trying to get info on guitars or musical careers, This forum has always been here for any type of support. Who knows, it might be me next week, or maybe another member. I remember one member who had a child that was hit by a car......WE (the whole forum) was here for that member. We're family, and family stick together, through good or bad times! This forum has always been "The GDP Family" and I think it will always be that. So, Bear KEEP POSTING!

There is an old Sufi saying attributed to the incomparable Mulla Nasrudin that I think applies here:
"Enjoy yourself, or try to learn --- you will annoy somebody.
If you do not --- you will annoy somebody."
