Miscellaneous Rumbles

R.I.P. Al Jarreau

1

One of my favorite singers, Al Jarreau, has joined the Big Band Upstairs. He started his career in the SF Bay Area, often working with keyboardist George Duke (another of my favorite artists).

Thanks for the grooves, Al! L.A. Times Obituary

2

What an amazing musician . . . RIP, Mr. Jarreau.

3

While not a big fan, I certainly appreciated his talent. Rest peacefully, Al.

6

He played a mean Stratocaster while with The Beach Boys! If I remember correctly, he was a neighbor of Brian Wilson's when he was asked to join the band!

7

Blessings and prayers to those who pass, and to those left behind who may still hurt.

Your kidding, right? We're talking about Al Jarreau, not Al Jardine. And David Marks was the neighbor not Al Jardine.

I mostly remember Al Jarreau for the Moonlighting theme.

9

I don't remember The Beach Boys singing the Moonlighting theme, though Bruce Willis' daughter Wanda dated David Mark's son in the early 80s! Small world, isn't it!

10

Bruce (Willis not Johnston) has 5 daughters, none are named Wanda, and were yet to be born in the early 80s . David has a daughter.
