I don't visit here nearly as much as I used to, but I heard about Zuma's passing from a friend. So let me say, thanks Zuma, for the many hours of that you helped me enjoy at the GDP over the years.
Rest in Peace.

Are we still on for Zuma avatar day? Tomorrow (Sun)
Yeah man! I thought we were on it all week.
R.I.P. Zuma.
Scott has been a constant positive presence on the GDP in the entire time I've been posting here. It's difficult to believe that he's gone.
I haven't been posting much since I moved back to Australia, so when I saw all of the Zuma avatars, I thought that perhaps it was some kind of in-joke I'd missed out on and wondered what it was. What a shock to learn that they were being displayed as a tribute to our friend and mentor.
Scott contributed so much to the board, as evidenced by our collective grief now and also when he was forced to sell the Falcon. I always think of him whenever I see a Falcon, especially an old one. He introduced me to banjo arm rests too.
Mitch, I lost my brother to suicide a few years ago. Corey was my best friend. I'm from a very tight knit family, but none of us saw it coming and we still don't know why he chose to end his life.
When a loved one kills themself, the loss is amplified with feelings of guilt and dispair that we who are left were powerless to stop them taking their life. As someone who's walked the road ahead of you, I can confirm that time is the great (albiet it slow) healer everyone says it is. It's a rocky path, so tread carefully and hang onto family and friends for support.
When Corey passed away, a friend's dad sent me a brief note that brought me great comfort. Hopefully it'll help you and your family too. He wrote: "Remember that our last breath on earth, is our first breath in heaven."
I'd arranged to meet my parents at Corey's grave today. We'll remember Scott and your family in our prayers too Mitch.
May he rest in peace at last.
Thanks for that. It's a very comforting thought.

Zuma: Do you want a bag?Oh my Lord. That is flawless.Customer: No, I'll save a tree.
Zuma: Well, the bags are plastic. If you want to save a tree, don't buy the book.
Mitch, thanks for sharing these stories with us.
Todays thoughts for Scott in a happier time; eating strawberry cake and laughing at my wife's birthday party.
Mitch, the Barnes & Noble story had me spitting my morning tea when I read it, it was so funny!
That was typical of how quick witted he was.

Mitch, I have not been around here long enough to have gotten to know your brother, but after reading the words of those who did I feel somewhat saddened not to have made that connection. Though I have troubles in my own life, I simply have no comparison to the confusion and pain you must be feeling. You have my deepest sympathies.
I am posting here as I stumbled upon this song earlier tonight and the imagery of the video combined with the haunting lyric caused me to draw certain parallels with some of the discussion in this thread. I wanted to present it here.
Music has a unique ability to stir emotion and trigger buried memories. Keep Scott's music close to you, you never know what it might bring.
Is there any way GDP radio could be reinstated for a short while to share a few of his favourite songs?
Respectfully yours, Phil
Thanks for the kind words.
Mitch

I haven't been around here long enough to really know your brother either, but the picture of him doing the "Neil Young Buffalo Springfield" pose made me smile. I had to go up in the attic and try on my old fringe jacket with my DSV. Scott seemed like a real cool guy. Thanks for the stories and pictures.
Paul
He was very cool. He had Fringe boots too!
