Keep posting, Mitch. It is good for us too!
EDIT: By the way, Mitch, for me, the 1990 picture of Scott REALLY bears a strong resemblence in many respects to Howie Epstein, Tom Petty's late bass player.

Wow, I just saw this. Mitch, I'm sorry you lost your brother. He was an online brother to us here...I don't know if I'll ever look at a White Falcon again without hearing the words "notice how on the originals the outer binding is a thick, clear layer...why can't they get it right..." Man that bugged him! A relentless stickler he was, and I loved him for it. Rock on, Zuma!

Good grief, this is a real shock. I haven't been around the GDP much lately and then I log in to find this terrible news. As many others have said, Zuma will be greatly missed.
Mitch, as someone that also lost a brother way too young, I know how hard it is to deal with and I can only send my condolences and best wishes to you and to your family . Hang on to your happy memories.
Steve

Yesterday was Zuma's funeral.
I'm posting my eulogy. You have all been so kind. Your comments have helped greatly.
There were probably no 2 brothers that were closer than me and Scott. The eleven year difference never made a difference to him. He use to take me on his dates to see movies.
It’s because of him I am a musician today. I started playing drums at age 3, and then guitar at age 10. He always came to my band concerts in grade school and high school. When I was going to school in Champaign, he would come down to see my band play at frat parties. I will never forget playing at this one frat party and looking over at him leaning against the wall and smiling so proudly. That was the only validation I ever needed knowing he approved. It’s also because of him that I am The Beatles fanatic that I am. We could talk Beatles forever. In fact he got so tired of me and the Beatles, he turned me on to The Who and shortly thereafter he couldn’t stand them . This pattern followed with Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. After Nancy left for college, he chose to stay at home with me and for better or worse he was my primary male influence during the years when a kid should have a dad. Instead of excelling in sports and going to games, He took me to see the Exorcist. He’d take me to Jack in the Box at 2:00 in the morning. There was no end to the inappropriate behavior. I loved it.
He was also the most generous person I had ever known. When Star Wars came out, we were both enamored with it. He bought every toy, model, electronic game and all the replica masks. He always bought in two’s one for him and one for me.. He talked me in to going to Arby’s wearing these masks. I was a 5 foot 1 Darth Vader and he wore Chewbacca. We ordered our arby q’s and curly fries and left. After he moved out we would be on the phone constantly. We watched entire TV shows together. This continued to present day.
After I became an adult and started living my life, Scott was a part of it. If you were married to me you were married to my brother as well. He was so happy when I moved back to Buffalo Grove. We were 2 minutes from each other and saw each other almost daily. We took care of each other. During the last few years, I took care of him. I knew what he needed to be happy. I did everything I could to make it easier for him. I kept him supplied with DVD new releases and Chicago Tribunes hoping if he were occupied He’d be OK. He was my best friend and I really miss him. I have never felt so alone. I know he’s not hurting anymore. That helps. Shine On You Crazy Diamond! -
