I got banned from another forum for mentioning that she had a baby that was "retarded". Since when did that become a dirty word? The kid is retarded. I'm amazed that people with retarded kids would be so offended by the word. I guess it's like being called "black" instead of "negro"... Every few years you have to learn a new word for it.
One more Palin observation

Why are liberals so jealous of success? Could it be because every month they have to hand that rent check to a fat greedy conservative slumlord who worked his ass off to own property rather than whine about how unfair the world is for not giving them a big enough handout?

Liberals aren't jealous of success. Not sure where you're getting that from.
Maybe liberals, and even some republicans and independents, are tired of seeing rich fat cats getting fatter and richer while more and more everyday Americans are being left for dead.
Maybe liberals, are tired of their fellow citizens being denied medical procedures because they can't afford insurance and can't afford the procedure but yet, members of Congress have an outstanding healthcare program that keeps them healthy. But to hell with our own citizens.
Ever been to a slum? Ever talked to an actual slumlord? I have. They're criminals.
You need to spend some time working with the homeless or serving food in a soup kitchen or food bank. You'll come back with a little better understanding and compassion for people.

Gentlben, please get real. I'm not jealous of success at all.
We're talking about a man who's going to potentially be the leader of our country, not someone down the street who's 'made it'.
For your information, Gentlben, while you're summarily classifying 'liberals', I spent 15 years in the US Army, after joining at 17 to get away from a dad who thought it was fun and stress relieving to humiliate and smack his kids around. I put myself through college, without any tax payer hand outs. I think I understand working my ass off. At this point in my career, I've got 3 CEOs phone numbers in my personal address book that I could call for a recommendation in a heartbeat, oh, and wow, they're all publicly traded companies. Am I jealous of success? Not at all.
Why are conservatives so afraid of stepping up to help the less fortunate?
I find it appalling that the fact that McCain doesn't even know how many houses he owns doesn't seem to register. That's just madness.

NotSoGentlBen,
We know why you keep mentioning Barack's middle name. You're having a fking field day with it. I'm surprised you aren't putting his middle name in capital letters. People who don't like Obama like to rhyme his name with Osama and bring up his middle name because it's middle eastern. It's what we expect from republicans actually. If his name was Barack James Obama, you wouldn't be able to use it as ammunition and his middle name wouldn't even be known.
You mentioned it before in this thread and nobody picked up on it, or they didn't mention anything. You didn't get the rise you thought you would so now you're being more obvious and blatant about it. Your thinly disguised racism and juvenile attempt to paint Barack Obama as something other-than-American won't win you any points here.

Though I'm usually not PC,Guitarcapo, the correct term would be "Mentally Challenged" but Retarded is much better than the terminology they used to use like Moron or Mongoloid.

Obama is in fact "something other than American." his actual citizenship is in dispute; he was raised in the Philippines; he appears never to have worked an honest job for a day in his life; he's been the beneficiary of the racial discrimination oft called "affirmative action" (this is why he won't release any of his college records...can't let them see what a crap student he must have been); and his program has nothing at all to do with American ideals unless you think that Labour ideas resonate in this country. it's not surprising that the European posters in particular like Obama; he's a perfect exemplar of the sort of statist, top-down governance that made millions of us leave Europe and settle in a land where the King--or his successor, the EU--can't tell us what to do any more.

in point of fact, conservatives "step up" far more than leftists do. Studies have shown that conservatives give far more to charitable enterprises in money and time than do leftists. We just don't think that the government is competent when it comes to "helping" people, or that it shows "compassion" to steal the peoples' money through taxation to pay for that governmental incompetence.

The Holocaust and moon landing are also in dispute, by NUTTY PEOPLE. If his citizenship was being disputed, why is he the democratic nominee? Why does he have secret service protection? These are not things granted to people who are something other than American citizens.
Crap student? Were you a classmate of his? You seem to be very knowledgable about Obama and what kind of student he was.
Being a grassroots organizer and a US Senator are honest jobs, to say they're not is a slap in the face to everybody out there who has given up a high paying salary to be a grassroots community organizer to help their community or to serve their country in the US Senate. Oh wait, I guess helping minorities isn't a real job....shame on YOU OBAMA for not working at Walmart, where REAL AMERICANS go.
His ideals are very American, he IS American not something other than, and he makes people who are disillusioned with their country believe in its hope and promise again and that's why I'M FUKING VOTING FOR HIM.

I dunno DK, I don't see it, studies notwithstanding. From the whole "think globally, act locally" point of view.
And in all honesty, that remark was to elicit a response, so it was more rhetorical in nature, and not necessarily a commentary. I think there are good people on both sides of the political aisle. I do think that most of the good ones, on either side, tend to be the ones standing close enough to the center of the aisle, to see the other side and not be blinded by their own view points.
I'm actually much more a libertarian than a liberal or conservative, or even a moderate. I like guns, but realize that taxes are a necessary evil. I like personal responsibility but understand that bad luck does indeed happen. Heck, there is abuse of the system at the welfare AND the White House levels

Dubkitty, Obama was born in Hawaii, which any elementary school student could tell you is a state in the great USA. There is no question about his citizenship. Believe it or not, McCain was actually born in The Panama Canal Zone, which prompted speculation by his own campaign that he may not be eligible. Personally, I have no reason to suspect that either of the candidates are ineligible, but it should be pointed out that McCain's eligibility is much more contraversial than Obama's. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article34...
