I don't find anything wrong with hunting. I happen to enjoy it myself. My rifle is pink camo. I killed a ten point last year. He was delicious. Unless you are a vegetarian, you really can't complain about hunting until you visit a slaughterhouse. But, hey, I live in Arkansas.

As far as Sarah Palin goes, I am disappointed. Disappointed that she was chosen, but even more disappointed that she accepted. I have nothing against women in politics, there are many strong, intelligent women that are great. But as a mom, I am curious as to how she can be a good mother and a good politician at the same time. She is attractive though.

I agree that venison, prepared properly, is delicious. I also have eaten bear (does that make me a cannibal?), alligator, pheasant, rattlesnake, and a few other game meats. Like I said, as long as the meat is eaten, I think hunting is just fine.

My point was about women and hunting and how I view it personally. I'm not saying hunting should be banned or that women can't or shouldn't hunt. Let them blow the heads off of deers, raccoons, coyotes, platypuses, whatever..if it moves kill it. Just stay away from me.

Palin is attractive, I wouldn't say HOT. But she loses a few points because she is willing to put a bullet into a defenseless animal. On the same token, I wouldn't date a girl who grabs a chicken by the neck and wrings it in order to end its life so we can eat it. It's just a turn off. I like girly girls who don't want to even kill a little bug....except flies...those motherfkers need to die.

If every maggot lived to adulthood, the entire surface of the earth (oceans included) would be twenty feet deep with flies in about two weeks. Or something like that.

No reference to Governor Palin is intended here. I just hate flies and this thought has given me comfort when I've gone on a fly-killing spree.

You have to take your hat off to John McCain though - the guy's a genius or at least his team are. I mean EVERYONE is talking about this lady and her daughter etc etc. Listen to us on here - I mean , we are talking about her on a guitar board! It really is a stroke of genius on the part of the republicans.

...and no, she's really not that hot.

Well, I just listened to hear speak and thought she did an excellent job. I may not agree with her political views but I think she is more than just a pretty face. Her confidence makes her even more appealing.

Well, I think she hit the nail on the head with her "what's the difference between a hockey mom and a bulldog" schtick. Now she just needs to put some lipstick on.

Watching her speak tonight made me cringe. I just get a very strong feeling that she's disingenuous. There's more going on behind the scenes there. They talk about Obama being smug?

I thought her best line was that being mayor of a town is a lot like being a community organizer except you have actual responsibilities.

And I agree she is hot but thats hardly a qualification for high office.

This is the most distressing election I have seen in my 51 years. Both sides now have untested rookies in Obama and Palin. To put it in a nut shell I agree with Obama on many issues but disagree with him strongly on several and where others find inspiration I see empty platitudes. McCain I have a great deal of admiration for due to his military career and trust his charecter but disagree with him about half the time. Palin's extreme views are disturbing but so is her paper thin resume.

Too bad we can't have McCain and Biden and have the all varsity team of adults.

The problem with having only battle-hardened experienced politicians run for offices, is you end up having the exact same guys for 30 years... as we do here in France. Seeing new faces every time is probably a good point for your system.

Now if you only could choose them better...

For us foreigners, the US election is quite amusing to watch. But also kind of worrying.

A few years ago I would have said that it doesn't make any difference to the animal why it is killed, so why does it to us? However, I agree with Bear. I think hunting for 'sport' is just wrong; I don't understand how a person can enjoy killing another animal. If you're shooting for the pot, as they say, fine. But if you're doing it so you can mount a carcass in your house... that's not fine at all.

Oh and Palin is an attractive woman. I find her more attractive than Mary Carey that's for sure. I wouldn't go as far as to say hot though... especially as the more I learn of her the less I like her. Oh... and comparing oneself to a bulldog is not a good thing either.

On hunting... Natural predators take the aged and weak. "Hunters" do what they can to take the biggest and best.

If Sarah Palin were running for president on her own intent she would likely not get the necessary support outside of Alaska. I see absolutely nothing presidential in her.

And before people bring up Quale et al I don't care about him/them. They were then, this is now.

She has all the attitudes and beliefs used by the current administration used to stay in power and that, in itself, should be a warning...

We'll see what happens next. Conventions are circle jerks and the speeches soon forgotten...

The actual race starts now.
