It appears that Gretsch is headquartered just outside Savannah, right on the way from my place north of Atlanta to my parents place in Hilton Head. Has anyone ever stopped by there? Anything to see?
Gretsch HQ?

I hear they have a company store, mostly pre-FMIC stuff and some oddball guitars, lefties of discontinued models and the like. As I understand it, Fred Gretsch III owns the Gretsch name and the Savannah office is his, but the manufacturing and sales/distribution is handled through a division of Fender.

Thanks Mark - I wondered what it might be they'd do there, as opposed to the Gretsch offices at Fender. Assuming they have Gretsch offices at Fender. Kinda makes me curious what the business relationship is, at how Gretsch is managed within Fender overall.
Sounds like it'd be worth stopping by, though, next time I'm driving through.

If you do stop by, could you take pictures and let everyone know what it's like? A prilgrimage could be in order.

Thanks for the links, Proteus. Unfortunately, none of the pictures from the archived site displayed for me, but Pappy's pics were great. Gives us an idea, at least, of what's in store at the GHQ.
I'm definitely going to make it a point to stop by there on my next trip down, camera in hand. I'll take LandCruiserSteve's advice about talking to Craig, maybe set up a small q&a to post here at Gretschpages.

I think this is their factory outlet ebay store. Not much up right now except a Bo Diddley Electromatic. A while back they had a nice black and silver jet.
