When it comes to most people, their ideal car falls either in the Exotic Italian/German sportscar camp, or the Classic American Muscle car camp.
By Italian/German, I'm obviously talking about Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, (some - sportscar is questionable) Alfa Romeo, and such German beauties as the Mercedes SLR or the Audi R8, etc. There's others like Koenigsegg for sure, but I doubt many people care about that.
Then you've got classic muscle, like old Mustangs/Camaros/GTOs/etc. Some seriously cool cars. Hemi 'Cuda anyone? Wow.
As for myself, I'm in the middle leaning towards Exotic Italian. Many people know that my car is a '64 Falcon (which is definitely not a Muscle car, but is moderately 'Classic') and some of the most beautiful cars ever made came from America in the 60s.
But on the other foot, nothing on this Earth compares to a Ferrari 355/575, or a Maserati GranTurismo, or a Lamborghini Muira, or something like that. Even something as terrible as an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione is stunningly gorgeous.
Where are you guys? I figure most people here will be in the Muscle camp, and that's perfectly fine with me. I get it. But I've had the privilege of knowing many owners of Ferraris/Lamborghinis, and I've even driven a few. Nothing compares to that feeling, nothing comes close. Well, doing a 200 foot burnout in my father's classic Corvette comes close.
I will be buying a 355 when funds allow (which won't be too long, unless children muck that up
). And it'll sit happily next to the Falcon.
