A few months ago, I dropped an email to a friend of mine with the Dubuque Arts Council asking them to check out The Modern Sounds. Well, looking forward to seeing the Modern Sounds Sunday at the Dubuque Arboretum. The summer concert series is free and draws huge crowds. The Dubuque Arts Council does an excellent job in promoting the arts, and in particular, various genres of music in our tri-state area. (The council sponsored my Songs of the Civil War program in area schools in 2009 and 2011. 26 school performances in 10 days!)

I saw them last year open for Imelda and Darrel, even got a chance to visit with Joel some. I became known to him as Bob the Gretsch guy!! What a fantastic guitarist and a great guy!!
