Seeing the Reverand Horton Heat this Friday!

  1. Shit I procrastinated and missed the Toronto show. I've been missing a lot of good stuff this month. Dayglo Abortions and Nashville Pussy just played about 3 blocks from my house and I was too lazy to go. I must be getting old.

I missed those bands as well, nearby. Weeknight shows, though...i am too old for weeknight shows. Especially for bands like Dayglo Abortions, who although are some really nice guys, do tend to imbibe while waiting as long as possible to go on stage.

Ya I hear ya Mark. Those are probably the last 2 bands I wanna see on a weeknight. They both cause me to want to imbibe, which I don't really do much anymore and act as though I'm still 20.

    Ha, I hear that!

The Kitchener show was great. It was nice to see The Brains play a place with a good sound system, and I took a crappy picture of Rene's Brain pedal for Tavo. The Real McKenzies were okay...I like their stuff on disc, but not too much live.

The Reverend was great. I'd seen him a bunch of times and was kinda burned out on his show, but he really mixed it up this time. I was outside with a friend prior to the show, who knows Jimbo, so he came up and talked to her for a bit, and we all had a nice chat. He's a good dude.

  2. I'm still contemplating getting tickets. On one hand, it's the Rev, and I've yet to see him live, and he never usually gets this far off the tour path so as to be playing in my home town. On the other hand, it looks to be an all ages show. Not sure what that's going to mean crowd wise. I want to enjoy the show, not get irritated with over zealous minors in the audience.

I know, not very rock and roll of me. I'm getting old....

  3. It's definitely a fair enough concern. I generally avoid all-ages shows like the plague. Unfortunately, this one was licensed and there were still a few jackholes present...

  4. If you've never seen him live just go buy the damn tickets. What's the worst that can happen? You get annoyed by a few kids and get to hear some great music.

I came to the same conclusion MrTickle. Tickets purchased. :)

  6. Good call. Don't you have a guitar named Yojimbo? Makes all of the sense in the world.

  7. Nope not me. I know which guy you're talking about though, the name just slips my mind. That guitar's a blue 6120 just like mine.

  8. Maybe that's why I'm confused, those 6120s in blue are so cool looking and not seen too often. Anyway, you made the right decision in going. :D
