Richard's new album was "officially" released today. Can't wait to get my hands on a copy, I'm a big fan of his.
Wow, judging by the videos, the material for the new album is a far cry from the Sheffield-themed records! Thanks for the links, JC!

Thank you very much for the links. That sounds interesting. The first 2 tracks could be Morrissey songs he wishes he'd written.
My copy of the CD was shipped today from another part of the world. Hope it arrives soon.
And let's see what happens with the 'Lisa Marie sessions'.

Don't know about Sheffield themes in the music Tartan Phantom, but you should know that there is an area here in Sheffield called Skye Edge. That fits in with previously named albums. There's a road - Skye Edge Road - that follows the contour along a cliff top built up with houses that look across the city.

Nickosonic, I was referring not only to the album titles, but also certain songs like "Coles Corner" and "Lady's Bridge" which reference (albeit indirectly) specific locations in Sheffield.
Was not aware of the "Skye Edge Road" reference, good to know!Anyway, I downloaded my digital copy of his new album this morning from Amazon UK, and I have to say that I've listened to it all the way through twice (it's on its 3rd spin right now), And I am totally blown away-- Richard has outdone himself again!
Two thumbs-up from this Tennessee resident!

I love this guy! He doesn't put a foot wrong, in my opinion. Great, understated guitar player and an amazing singer.
