Arise Sir Ringo

1

Looks like Mr Starr picked up a gong in the New Year’s honours.

3

I wonder if he's Sir Ringo Starr or Sir Richard Starkey?

4

Sir Richard Starkey---as it should be. Congrats!

5

Sir Barry Gibb ("Knights on Broadway", "Knight Fever") was also honored.

8

To me, Ringo always plays just the right thing at the right time.

It was so funny when in 1965 they received their MBE‘s and they were introduced one at a time - John Lennon MBE, George Harrison MBE, Paul McCartney MBE and when they announced Ringo Starr MBE everyone broke up laughing. I assumed it was because it was hilarious that poor kid from the Dingle would get an award from the Queen normally given to a “gentleman” from a different class. “Sir” Richard would have had them in hysterics.

I read the article that Olivia posted and I can't believe this didn't get mention.

Agreed. But, some of my Drummer Boy friends tell me that the list of wonderful work Ringo has done, for The Beatles, and so many others, if very long, indeed.

Can't help but think of this....
