Electromatic style.

Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the filtertrons in the Tim Armstrong/new Jets with the Megatrons in the Corvette or whatever they are calling it? Are they the same pickup with different shells?

How do they compare with the standard Gretsch filtertron?

They are different pickups. I don't know first hand but I hear the Megatrons are higher output than a standard Filtertron and are a cross between a Filtertron and a Powertron in tone. The Tim Armstrong model has Blacktop Filtertrons which use ceramic magnets instead of alnico but I'm not aware if their output is any different than a standard Filtertron.
