So, it's a P90 attached to a "strat pickup" with a blade pole piece. And they're wound pretty hot, 18ohms for the bridge... It'd be interesting to try, especially since I'm looking for a new bridge P90... 90 bucks is pretty reasonable too. These might get a try, thanks hellbilly.

I saw this a while ago and thought it pretty interesting. I wonder if it would fit into a normal `bucker hole? I didn't read the whole description yet, maybe I should do that.

they are standard humbucker form-factor, but designed to give you all 3 sounds (strat/p90/paf). there's demos on youtube.
not a bad idea, decent price, but i like covered pickups and don't really feel i need them.

it's an interesting idea. i suspect that the full-on 'bucker mode would be less than optimal because the coils would be pretty far apart, but if you can get a convincing Stratoid sound and a decent P90 out of it it'd be a great addition to a J.J. Cale-esque Guitar Of A Thousand Tones. and could be very hip in the neck position of a FrankenTele.

Here is another idea. I was touring with Robbie Gladwell this summer and he had a Vintage brand Strat-a-like with 3 P90s. The pickups had a ballast resistor fitted and, controlled by a second tone knob, offered P90 AND Strat sounds. I tried it. It really worked. They looked great, regular black soapbars.
I don't know if the pickups are available aftermarket. They were designed in conjunction with Trev Wilkinson. Here's a link-

Yeah - I could see something like these on a dual humbucker configured tele - especially if you wanted to cover a lot of sonic turf.

I'm using those P-Rails in one of my Blend Zaganin. It's really cool. I'm using it as a p90 90% of the time and they sound great. The HB is pretty decent and the single didn't work well in my guitar but it's not bad at all. It's all about matching volumes and stuff. I'm not using the pickups combining different types (I don't want to) so it's even cooler. anyway, I recomend. (btw, a 3 p90 Strat is something really cool. I used to love those Hamer Monaco (?) with 3 p90. That's a hell of a guitar.
