Fitting a vintage Dyna in a modern Filtertron rout

1

Hi all...I'm thinking of mounting an old Dyna in a Filtertron rout on a reissue 6119-59. I'm sure this has been touched on before but does someone (I think I remember reading somewhere that TV Jones used to before he introduced the T-Armond) make an oversized Dynasonic shim to be used to cover the screw holes from the Filtertron ?

I've got a Filtertron sized T-Armond in there at the moment that is good but the old Dyna I want to put in there just sounds better. Is this going to be really hard to achieve?

Paul Setzer makes a shim like what you're describing IIRC

Thanks WB....good to know. What would you think is the best way to contact him....should I try and send him a direct message through Gretsch Pages?

If you want to avoid drilling new screw holes for the Dearmond, you can make a riser with the same screw positions as the Filter'tron, and then screw the Dearmond to that, using short screws so as not to go into the top. Yeah thats what I was thinking but lazily just wondered if someone already made such a riser or shim. The results look good in that thread....thanks for that.
