that tele is jaw dropping. I've never played a Wolfie but I've only heard good about em. looks like two great additions to me.

(man now I really want a thinline tele, damn you caliban )

didn't Music Man make a guitar very much like the Wolfgang before the Wolfgang was designed? the Axis model or some such?

Musicman did make a Van Halen model in the early '90s. It's the same as the Axis but had the pickup switch under the neck pickup.

The guitar tech who worked on the Thinline wrote back that he simply bought a sheet of tortoise shell from Allparts and cut it to size, using the original pickguard as a template.

Thanks for the photos, Caliban! It's bad enough trying to explain to the wife why I had to get the Pro Jet, and now look what you've done----given me GAS! Got me jonesing for a Tele. Everything I like about Teles and throw in a CC90. I'm most impressed.

P.S., I've been thinking about doing several mods to my thinline, and I gotta say the thought of a CC in the neck position is beginning to seems like the-thing-to-do.

I've been very pleased with the CC. It has a very different tone from any other Tele neck pickup I've experienced. Go for it.

The Lollar I have is great. I've not used them, but Curtis Novak and Vintage Vibe also make CCs that seem well regarded over on the TDPRI web site.
