This just showed up on my bench...

  1. A 65/6 Duo Sonic II...

Here to be put back together, all i can say is holy shit.. This thing is so freakin cool!

Checked Nitro is the coolest thing ever :D

  2. Nice! I love those little old guitars.... And you're right: There is nothing like beautiful checking!

  3. I see how ya are, just teaser shots.... Give us a full frontal!8-) Looks neat!

  4. Need to see it when it's ready to go!

  5. Very cool. I concur with the need for a full frontal shot!

    Dylan

  6. That looks inticing!

  7. Love the Duo, always... Back then, even the "budget" guitars were top quality.

  8. way cool ,,,,, but if your looking for money for more pics , it aint that cool lol ,,,,, just kidding ,,,,,,,,,, MORE pics !!!!

  9. i love this thing!

its weird holding guitar thats got a good 40years on me..

there will be plenty of pics of this thing coming up! including full lenght ones 8-)

  10. Wow! Other than the hard tail, this is a dead ringer for my first guitar (a 1964 mustang) that my grandfather gave to my brother and me when I was 10, along with a Princton Reverb.

  11. I would be tempted to keep it :) :P

  12. You see a lot more Mustangs than Duo-Sonic IIs!

  13. Its safe to say ill be making the guy an offer !#$@%

  14. wow

  15. As requested... Full lenght!! And few more fancy ones :D

I strung it up, its been sitting neck off for quite a number of years so im waiting to see how the necks gunna move. I think it'll be just fine. Its quite a chunky little neck.

  16. I had a 56 Duo-Sonic, same color, but with a white guard. I didn't like it.

  17. that is indeed a cool guitar. it seems though that the duo sonics were taken apart alot because on ebay you see a lot of vintage bodies.

  18. And its all done. Neck didn't move even a fraction. The switches are still a little dicky (they do actually work now), even after cleaning. But for the sake of keeping it original it'll do. :)

Came to realisation i was more in love with the look than how they play. Not a fan of the scale lenght. The Strats 25.5 is more my style :D

  19. i'm a great fan of the 24.65/24.75 scale, so someday i'll get a Duo-Sonic because i'll bet the even shorter scale will be right up my street. once i'm working again, i'm going to be sorely tempted to buy one in bits off eBay.
