Interesting video from Fender Custom Shop on how the White Chicken came about..

Very cool guitar! Thanks for posting.
I'm not a real big fan of Falcons, but for some reason I really dig this. Looks like a Tru-Arc on there, too.
I just wish he had played it a little in the video.

I've seen this guitar many times and never heard it once.

Cool guitar, but rather an unfortunate choice of names.

I'm not sure about that guitar at all. An obese Tele in all that gold it's just not right. White Turkey more like.

Yeah, I was waiting for him to play it the whole time, but he never did.. Still a very cool guitar I think, but I'd love to hear it..

I agree.....

I've always preferred white meat over dark meat when it comes to chicken and this just proves it.

A White Chicken? They could have done a rectangular white Bo Diddley model and called it The Roadrunner. I'm waiting for the Woody Woodpecker model in natural knotty pine finish.

should have got James Burton behind it and named it Chickin Pickin

I've seen photos of a similar guitar done in Gretsch orange. Maybe the same guy built that guitar. It's kind of cool looking, but it doesn't work for me.

I feel the same way, and I hate the shape of the Fender F-hole.

If you're gonna call a guitar the "White Chicken" you have to be prepared to talk about how many "bucks" it will cost.
And yes, that is a Chicken Joke!

Hmmm......We're seeing Gretsch Custom Shop guitars in Fender colors, why not a Fender with Gretsch features? I would like to see a Jazzmaster/Jaguar get the Falcon treatment, though.Doing it to a Telecaster seems something like giving Rolls-Royce appointments and gold-plated brightwork to a WW2 military Jeep.

wished he would had strummed a few notes, intriguing piece from the "dark side"... i'd pick it up at least as i did a thinline ONCE

Good point! Does anybody remeber the Rolls-Royce body kit you could get for the old air-cooled VW Beatles?

And the nearest thing to a Jeep that the Germans had was based on a Beetle.Rolls-Royce lookalike stuff grafted on? Fail.

Archtop 13
Bear, those were the ugliest conversion ever made. How dare you post that here
I like the name, The White Chicken. Is it completely hollow or semi? If it's hollow the tone is going to be a bit boxy, being it is so small, thin, loaded with hardware & the bridge so close to the end will make it tough to get enough flex out of the top. The Bigsby should have been cut about 1/2" shorter the neck scale also.
The Les Paul sized Archtop I built had a 23.25 scale in order to get the bridge up in the area it needed to be. Fortunately it was build for a person of small stature & fingers
It didn't sound half bad, but it was no full sized archtop either.

I have the orange version of the white chicken, same instrument but where the white chicken was done in White Falcon dressings mine was done in 6120 dressings. It is hollow and sounds great, not boxy at all. In fact I would describe it as quite open sounding, quite lively. I don't play it as much as I'd like to but that has a lot to do with the cost. Just my two cents. Thanko you

They were available in the JC Whitney catalog, next to the Dune Buggy kit.
