Yes I am known to favor certain orange twangy hollowbody guitars and oddball teles in my band performances and testing in the shop, but I always go back to my upbringing playing that Coronado II w DeArmond single coils my Dad built while at Fender in the 60s and the Airline Town & Country he gave me in high school, through his magnat#ne tube amp. Thats where the Nocturne Rooster guitar gets its start even though it ends up a hollowbody w an i beam suspension :)

I've designed a guitar that looks and feels familiar w a 25" scale, and 9.5" radius fretboard.. yet is a breed of its own. As I've teamed up w Barry of Grez guitars, an Acoustic Engineer who's helped me get the sonic footprint of a near full sized hollowbody's acoustic transparency while exhibiting the twang and snarl of a vintage jet w the top end compression and jangle of ricky yet still carrying the honky tonk snap and woody bonk of a tele, in a streamline design that comfortable and fast yet still warm in the hand like the handshake of a good friend.

Dude, you're building guitars now?!?

Lovely looking piece, good luck with the venture.

5

If Grez is involved it's bound to be fantastic.

6

It appears I’m still banned from GT, and I don’t FB. The guitar looks great from here, though. Congrats!

9

Stellar appointments. Very nice. Congrats on getting your dream baby built.

I love everything about this guitar, ‘cept maybe the bridge, and I might love that too. I like the price too, as it keeps it away from any temptation.

I was just playing that vid and bragging to my wife that my friend Tavo is an absolute genius.

Do you have any pictures of the inside? I would like to see how hollow it is.

15

I've seen pics--it's mega hollow.

What a cool spec! (Well, mostly...) The acoustic hollowosityness is certainly something I've been chasing, and it looks great. I wonder how sinker redwood compares to spruce for ring and resonance - but it certainly sounds fat and juicy. Congrats on seeing such a major project through to completion.

I was kinda out of guitars to want, but this probably fills that void.

well I prefer a split truarc serpentune w brass on the bass side and steel on the treble side but you said I couldnt get em when i wanted. mind you..Since you came up w the serpentune, its the best thing in the world for guits. My tokai LP changed into a sweet singing machine w one, and my dipinto los straitjacket guitar will now laugh at any fender offset w that lovely Tru-arc I put on'r.

regarding sinker redwood.. its more of a neutral/ flat response in the mids but seems to have a bigger sound with the lows and the resonance factor may not be just the top wood on my Rooster guitar, rather Barry being an Acoustic Engineer, has helped me get a near double cut nashville footprint out of a deep jet sized instrument. since the top and back are almost as thin as an acoustic guitar. I dont want to use fat n juicy, as it feels a little too market hyperbole' but yes the combination of all factors delivers what I'd like to see more of from a Jet meets a rick meets a bigsby.

https://scontent-lax3-1.cdn... more than hollow, the top is cut very thin for an electric, and the back is machined thin enough to be treated like an acoustic when swinging it around.

This is perfect!

Sweet!

What’s the weight?

I tried a Santa Cruz Guitar Co. California Special -- walnut back and sides with a redwood top. It sounded sweet and rich. Congratulations on designing and building a very cool looking and sounding guitar.
