Tecates? should be drinkin' guiness I should say...
FF909, you have a right-handed version of the G. Love Corvette? Why?
He won it at the first Nashville Roundup. Later sold to Fieldhdj's kid who had a hard time putting it down all weekend.
El_pabst,
Don't worry that started us off the rest of the night was Guinness, Harp, and Jager.
but the highlight were two Green 40oz. it was amazing lol
LOL!
How about some of these for the next Cinco de Mayo (we really don't celebrate 5 mayo in Mexico, but we can all have a few cold ones!)

While I had it, it served as the "guest guitar" at Hangar909. A few visitors played it and bought Gretsches of their own afterward.
Dylan brought it to the most recent Nashville Roundup and found himself lending it around for others to check out when he wasn't wailing away on it himself. Everyone likes the heck out of it -- I did, too, and sure wish it had been a lefty!
That guitar has done a nice job promoting the brand.

Elpabst,
Sol is amazing, If i had to drink one beer, that would be the one. I love Sol.
How does the G. Love compare with the standard Corvette, Paul?
Now, that's something I would not know, as I've never picked up a standard Corvette (also not offered left-handed, darnit).
I can tell you with confidence that the G.Love approaches the Pro Series guitars in all important aspects (fit & finish, sound, and playability). It's possible that some parts (i.e., tuners) are lightweight and might have durability limitations over time, but I don't know that for sure.
The G. Love 'Vette is a major bang-for-buck Gretsch, in my estimation.
And (we all keep saying it, and it bears repeating): that green looks so much better in real life than in photos! What it really needs is a cream-colored pickguard to match the racing stripe. That would set it aright in everyone's perception, I believe.

Ric, I think the big difference are the Powertrons. They give it some extra fullness, more midrange and low end. There also seems to be some "springiness" - that is, I think the Powertrons respond a bit more to your touch than the Megatrons do.
Not that the stock model is bad - I'd snag one in a minute if I could find a neck profile I liked. Great guitars, one of Gretch's best bang for the buck.
I agree with Paul too, the cream colored pickguard would look much less jarring to the eyes than the white. Perhaps it will age gracefully.
Oh, and the tuners are different. The G Love has minis.
I have never had a chance to play a Corvette and so I am quite interested in this guitar. (I'd be even MORE interested if it came in white or cream color!) But, looking at the photographs on the Gretsch website, the tuners on both models appear to be very similar or the same even.
The difference in the machine heads are most evident from the back. The minis look very similar to the vintage from the front.
