Checked a few other forums and posters who have friend who works there, etc.. supposedly, Fender should have it all rolled out in a week or so.

another said that musician's friend has had a lot of sales on fenders, maybe to make room for these etc..

That's a different guitar in the auction. No trem, various unusual features. The new series is more traditional.

I've been really out of the loop on new gear. Are the trem arms the same as the 62 reissues where they sort of pop in the collet thingy and then stay in the same position unless you swivel?

the recent squier mascis jazzmasters have a trem arm as you described...these seem to be using the same exact trem system as that..so...

I put a little bend (hit it with a hammer) in the arm on my Squier Masics and that puppy stays in there perfect now

I've just spotted one of these Jazzmasters at a store an hour from my town, so I'm gonna try and go play it sometime in the next two weeks just to see what I think. I'm surprised it has got down here to NZ that fast, actually.

ok.. So i broke down and ordered a Squier Jaguar, white with tortise. Should be here in 3-5 days. Several things broke me down. 1) waiting years to get one, 2) waiting what seemed years to have squier release them... 3) given the buzz for all the squier fans and these models, who knows what will be available when (aside from mailorder..) 4) generally around chicago, chain music stores, you call the have the wrong info, you get there, it's not right, etc or whatever. I figure i'd save myself the time and aggravation and just be done with it. Fingers crossed, expect a full report in the next week or so.
