Other Guitars

Oh, Kent!

26

Here's another oddity

– Suprdave

It's obvious everywhere except the headstock that this was a six string guitar at one point, turned into a tenor. Odd, indeed, Dave.

27

Guyatone G-160T Telstar with GA-430 amp. Coolest Japanese guitar EVER!

28

Nice guitar. Here’s my modest Telestar.

31

I saw these two at GC today.

32

At $800, that's a bit too much for my blood.

36

He says he's going to sell the Eastwood 12, because honestly, how many 12s do you need?

37

And Furie is acquiring this one in the near future.

It's an Orpheus.

39

That Burns is very cool, your son has some good taste in guitars. Hey I need a 12 string, if he doesn't like the Burns let me know

He's selling the Eastwood Sidejack 12.

– crowbone

i have a Domino 335 copy on loan from a friend. He said it may need some work to get it playable.

Come to find out, all it needs is a new wiring harness, new pots and switches and the ability to install the aforementioned.

Sadly, I lack the skill or will to do that, so I've broken the bad news to him that fixing it would undoubtedly cost more than the guitar is worth.

Full disclosure: He used it to collect autographs. So it's covered in signatures. None of which are verifiable.

42

Is he looking to sell it?

My boys are, apparently, in collecting mode.

43

Hey Crow, how does the Kent guitar in the original post sound? I've got my eyes on one I can get for a good deal.

– Otter

Hey Otter,

I can't speak of golden clean tones or anything like that because both boys play through heavily effect laden chains, but it does sound good from what they are playing, and they don't mind the feel of them, either.

45

And now, to fund the purchase of a Banana guitar, Laz is selling the Kent.

46

I'm still appreciating how cool it is that you named your son Lazarus.

47

Thanks, but I can't really take credit for it, that falls on my son, Furie(I named him), and of course, there's a story behind it.

Two years after Furie was born, I got a Christmas card, addressed to Daddy. It was my wife's announcement to me that we were going to have a baby in July. They have video of me weeping tears of joy.

New Year's eve, however, we were in the emergency room, with a miscarriage. For almost two years after that, I was devastated, much more than my wife for some reason.

By then, Furie was still a small kid, but a giant ball of energy, with a vivid imagination, that loved throwing his arms around my neck, and climbing up on my shoulders so he could view the world from the height he was destined to attain.

One day, while we were playing, he casually mentioned that my wife had his brother in her belly, and his name was Lazarus.

We sort of laughed at the way he said it, but it creeped her out enough to hear an almost 4 year old randomly say that, that she went and got a pregnancy test. She was!

We figured, Lazarus wasn't a bad name, and the thought of that name grew on us almost instantly.

Naming Furie was an even weirder story.
