my new telecaster is done (now with short crappy video!)!

  1. Here's my brand new telecaster, parts-caster really.

    Geeky stuff first :

-Marc Rutters one piece swamp ash body in light blonde nitro

-Rutters chopped bridge and jack cup. ("Rutterscup" is what he calls them)

    -Lollar 50's wind P90's

-Allparts V-neck, Gotoh kluson copy tuners.

-CTS 500K pots, Switchcraft switch with Gretsch switch tip, and black Daka-ware knobs

-Lacquered Bakelite armrest by TK Smith, lacquered bakelite pickguard by yours truly.

It's everything I was hoping for and more - it plays great, sounds great, feels luxurious, and I love the way it looks too. Marc Rutters comes highly recommended by the way - amazingly high quality work for less money than you'd think when you see it.

    Here's two pics :

  2. thats mega cool !!!!! i like the way you placed the knobs and switch

  3. That's a thing of beauty. Good job.

  4. Lovely work Walter. :) I really gotta get my finger out and get my own finished.

  5. Very cool again, Walter!
And you are right about Rutters. Amazing work and a very nice guy to deal with! I still love the Rutters bridge on my P90 Tele.

  6. Wow.

  7. Very nice Walter. I'd guess it's a real clean machine too, with the long scale and low output P-90s. That 25.5 scale really changes things with P-90s ... I've been wanting to try just that type of tele for a while. MD

  8. Very classy!

  9. look bitchen! ..and i bet it sounds killer. you know I'm a nut for rutters stuff :) time for demo vid eh?

  10. Very cool!! Great Job!! :)

  11. I'd love to have one just like that!!

MD, you obviously have experience with this - yep, it's sounds a little cleaner than what you'd expect from a solid slab with P90's...in the best possible way!

Thanks for the kind words folks. Tavo, possible youtube upload once the numbing heatwave over here is over!

  13. That's sweet Walter. Great job, and some nice choices made.

    I bet that you're grinning BIG time8-)

  14. JD, absolutely, ear to ear! :)

  15. Killer tele Walter! I bet that thing sounds mean.

  16. That's stunning, Walter.

    I can't wait to hear a clip.

  21. Good job Walter 8-)

  22. Say, that's purty! Nice axe, Walter!

  23. That's a gorgeous guitar, Walter! Makes me want to build one myself. I have two half-decent Tele's, but ONE really nice one would make me happy I think. Enjoy it!

  24. Nice WB! Love that bridge.

  25. Beauty! Great features you put into that one!
