Mosrite and Thomas Organ

1

Found this on Wikipedia Mosrite page... looks like they had a run @ Thomas to handle their guitars, I guess seeing what success Thomas had with Eko-Vox guitars.

"Mosrite of California went bankrupt in late 1968 after they contracted with the Thomas Organ Company to market their guitars."

Thomas was involved with Heathkit as well. They sold organ and amp kits.

I believe the Mosrite/Thomas deal was an attempt by Mosrite to recover from the loss of the Ventures endorsement/distribution arrangement. Mosrite was also hit hard by the failure of three different series of Mosrite Amps - Dumble tube, Award, and Sanner - and were struggling financially.

There were kit Jaguar organs. I knew a guy who had a Heahtkit solid state 2-12 amp in '67 and even then my Little Dork Self knew it sucked and I was way better off with my Ampeg Reverberocket. Some Heathkit gear had the same chrome knobs that Thomas Vox amps had.
