Levin 350

  1. Have you seen this model before? http://www.vintage-guitars....

  2. No, but that is one handsome guitar.

  3. I'd like that — even if the trem does look like something knocked up in a school metalwork class.

  4. The one beneath it was even cooler.

  5. some cool guitars ,,,,, but this guy sure holds a grudge,,,,,,, he has a guitar listed that was stolen from his store in 1999 ,,,,,,,,,,, this guy is a pitt bull ,,,,,,,,, he wont let go ,,,,,,,,, I like him !!!!

And then there's this classic (always used to drool when I saw the Django Reinhardt photos):

  8. levin built some really nice instruments. Dave, that's a standard Hagström vibrato of the period, Guild used them too. They work surprisingly well if set up right.

8-o I did not know that... WOW! Thanks for the link (not that I'll be buying it).

  11. I do like guitars that are a little out of the ordinary. Right now I can't decide whether this guitar would be an unusual yet practical instrument I could enjoy gigging with, at least for a few numbers — or a daft novelty with shortcomings that would be revealed by the second verse of the opening song. Surely I can't be the only person here who has had a "why the hell did I buy this?" moment.

The fact that the lower three strings and their corresponding polepieces on the neck pickup seem to have a rather distant relationship ought to bother me — but it doesn't.

  12. They still make them, now with vintage looking humbuckers and a Licensed Bigsby trem, great guitars !

    Mine is an 2011 model,

    Fred,

  15. hmmm....that looks like yet another classic brand name applied to yet another generic Asian-made cookie-cutter guitar. Shame.
