Let's See Your "Sit-Out" Guitar

I'm not talking "wall hangers"; I'm talking "sit out": no protection, no dusting, no humidification, no string changes. This is the guitar that sits arms-length from your couch and/or the guitar you pick up for song writing or trying to work out some guitar part when you don't feel like un-casing one of your more High-tone guitars.
Mine is my "Way Out West" Americana.

mine's a blueridge br-163.

I keep this guy, a Stromberg "Newport" sans pickup downstairs. I probably play it more than any other guitar just due to proximity to where I am most of the time.

I always have a guitar in a stand by my recliner, but what guitar is there changes often. Right now my 5120 is sitting there.

Agreed...this is good Andy.I bought this NOS Rancher Jr. a few years ago for my niece to play on,however she only gets to visit five times a year
.She wanted to learn so this is it,with a custom bone nut, saddle and pins it sounds pretty good....even better with old strings.I do clean and put new strings on it before she comes though.

I shouldn't be surprised that this crowd would have some pretty nice "sit outs".
Where are all the hammered Kay/Harmony/Silvertone archtops?
Keep 'em comin'!

My trusty Cort Earth 50. Purchased new over 8 years ago and rock solid. Still the best playing acoustic ever for me.

lol. Wall-hangers are for pictures aren't they? Never had a guitar I wanted to look at rather than play.

a Stromberg "Newport" sans pickup (Bonedaddy)
Wow! I had to look that one up. I found out that these are new guitars, not the legendary jazz boxes from the swing era. Never seen those, they probably don't export them to Europe. Does it sound as good as it looks?

That could be any of my guitars. I don't keep certain guitars in certain places. They're all here to be played. I have a rack I keep them in and two stands in corners of the room. But any guitar could be on there and usually there is another one lying around on the couch. I never keep anything in cases. I know they won't get played that way.

This is my Simon & Patrick Pro-Mahogany. Lovely to just pick up and play when I get that urge. Which is often. It sits in the lounge and in the study. Not at the same time though! The small round chip on it is where my wife decided to knock over a set of golf clubs right on to it! That's the only mark on it so it could have been a lot worse though.
Edit: I just noticed from the picture that there is a very small mark on the top right on the binding that I never saw before. Yet looking at the guitar in the flesh one can hardly see it!

Not entirely sure I agree with the "wall hangers" notion. I put up the slatwall system last month because some of the guitars hadn't been taken out of their cases in years. Accessibility for me was the key. Getting a 9th guitar sometime in June and then we'll see which one sits out the most. Right now it's the G5120.
