Is this a good deal for a Gibson L37?

Hi,
I got offered an L37 in good condition (except from: see below) and all original for 1.000$ (no case). It's a 1936 model. At one point the top had two cracks which were nicely repaired.
I feel this is a decent deal for this guitar. Am I wrong? What do you think?
Thanks a lot!

Alright, I bought it. It's in a very good condition, the cracks are on the back and it's missing the Pickguard, so I got it for 675$.
I always wanted one of those old archtops!

And...?
How's it play and how's it sound?

Well.. It's my first f-hole/archtop acoustic so I'm comparing it to the flattops I usually play: It's bright. It sounds very bright.
It's nice for melodic bluesy playing. Single notes sound great and sweet and very clear on it. It has a pretty bulky v-neck which I need to get used to a little more, but all in all it seems like a really nice guitar.
