Yes, that's right.

Martin has toyed with electric guitars from as far back as the mid-60's. But they've just never garnered the fame of their acoustic bretheren. Don't know how they sound, but IMHO in the "looks" department, they were about as homely as a "blind date".

I guess it's a good thing for the Company that their acoustic guitars are legendary.

I agree, that guitar ain't that pretty either. you can't blame them for wanting to branch out. but it looks like the designer has no concept of electric guitars. what's that old saying ? "back to the drawing board." thanks, Rob.brent

In that scheme of things, the Gretsch Committee is a much better looking guitar. Of course, it was about as Gretschy as one of those is Martiny (is that even a word?lol).

When it comes to Martin electrics, this is what I have stashed in the closet, a '66 GT-75 that I bought back in 1980. Glad I went with it instead of one of those solidbody jobs!

I sorta like the looks of those. Lose some of the switches, knobs, levers and especially the Jim Dunlop Straplocks and I'd be game. OK, not really but I still like the natural wood look, layers of wood and the neck-through design.

Thanks for the posts Tartan...Those kind of look like homemade amatuer guitars...But they are kinda cool also
