I'll add a little detail about acquisition of my X155.
Got it from Sam Ash.
The first one sent had been beaten senseless by who knows how many people. More used than any guitar I had. Even without that, it would have been a loser, a clunker.
Paul Ash, via communication with corporate office, had a nice replacement picked out of a bunch. Probably as good as they got.
It pays to go to the top.
I picked up my new DeArmond X155... the Ebay seller lived close enough to meet. I handed him his $325 and he handed me back $20 - THANKING ME for him not having to ship it. So my cost was a little gas money (cheap gas again!) and $305 cash. As Wayne and Garth would say: BONUS!

A bit too soon to ask... I had just a little $$$$ for this purchase... I thought I'd end up with a Danelectro, then this one popped up. I played it for about 30 minutes tonight and like it as it is. I was told that the DeArmond pickups are very Gretsch-like, but I am not sure. Didn't DeArmond make the pickups for Gretsch guitars in the early days? I will get some photos up. It is amazingly CLEAN! MINT condition. So... yes... I am a happy camper!

Those are 2k pickups, made for the Dearmond guitar line only. They look like Dynasonics you'll see on Gretsch, but don't sound much like that to me. More P-90ish than anything else IMO. Excellent sounding pickups. Enjoy your new guitar! MD
Those are Gold Tone humbuckers, which sound pretty much like Guild humbuckers.
