Wrap Around Tailpiece{Custom Made}

  1. I try not to post too much of my stuff here, But I thought this would interest some of the Vintage Freaks like myself.
As you know, the Wraparound Archtop Tailpiece isn't something that is easy to come by. I really wanted one on this guitar, so I decided to make one & add a little of my own flare. I can post more pictures when I get it finished up. Here it is in the rough.

  2. one word, beautiful!

and if you look closely, you can see the tailpiece look likes big smile with mustache :D

  3. Or the front of a Studebaker:D

  4. Looks really nice! You should post way more photos of your stuff.

I like this setup on my LP:

Gibson Les Paul Studio '83 Custom

  5. That's really cool! Those Trapeze-style tailpieces look great with the Florentine guitars.

  6. Setzer, That's a Wicked LP! & the type of tailpiece I was trying to emulate. &, of course, it will have a P90 !#$@%

Jack, Thanks! I'll post more pics when I get it finished.

  7. definitely more pix.

  8. Looks cool in that configuration. It mirrors the florentine. Reminds of the Schroeder stopbar too.

Ha! I either haven't seen that tailpiece or it was buried in my subconscious memory somewhere. I'll post more pictures when I pull it apart. Bridge actually is shaped a little more like the front of a boat(don't know if that's a good description, but it's pretty close). I will pull it apart next week after I get the threads cut to length. I need to get it off to powdercoat, this & the other guitar will start into paint next week.

  10. Looks good, got that hole ES-295 thing going, with Gretschy f holes.

  11. Yeah, That's kinda my style...Merging things that look good while adding a little spice.

I finished up early today & decided to take a trip into Burlington to get some things taken care of, Including the tailpiece Powdercoated. I fully expected to come back for it in a week, but the guy said "Come Back in an hour"8-) I love Vermont people! Here are a couple shots of it now.

  12. So, a little bit further down the road. The Salmon Top is the same guitar as above. The two tone green I have posted in another thread. This week has be dedicated to getting the paint to this point. For some reason, must be the weather, I had to change my mixture to get the paint to flow properly from the gun. But anyway, vintage car colors on guitars always get me going! Hope you like.8-)

  13. Love the looks of the green one, I must have missed that thread? What is it or did you make it?

  14. It was the "what pickups would you put in this" thread. Yes, I make them. www.bluebellyguitars.com The green turned out pretty cool, I thought. Can't wait to get all the bits on it.

  15. Cool, it's a beauty!

  16. Sweet! Looking good.

  17. Thanks! Setzer, someone said you make pickup covers? This correct? You have a website?
