FYI - Morley tech support said some newer batches have 1 meg resistors in that spot (vs. 100K) that should make a significant difference.
Morley also said clipping them out all together won't harm anything.
The thing I find very odd about those resistors it that they are connected to both the signal path and the ground. Compare that to the configuration of the input side. See how the resistor is only attached to the collar of the input jack? That makes more sense to me (given the little I know about this stuff).
I think they were trying to remove some interference/noise from the path. but that's and odd way to do it IMO. Shielded wire would have been better, it seems to me...
