I've heard about these... It's for about $110 bucks - maybe less when I covert from zlotys.
Are they that good? I need a delay pedal... Not sure which way to go, but it seems like I remember some guys here talking about these.

Sorry. That was a typo. About $210.
If you feel you can justify the expense, go for it! There are alot of cheaper delay pedals out there.
Well, that's my question. Is it worth the money? The alternatives are a digitech and a boss pedal, both about $50 cheaper.

It's a bit expensive if you ask me. But that thing is the closest thing to a tape echo. I suggest you try these pedals before dropping a hefty amount to that pedal.
Boss DD3 - works well with Scotty Moore, he adds a chorus pedal to get that tape flatter. Les Paul has two DD3s in his pedalboard, don't ask why. So if its good enough for Scotty and Les, it's...
Danelectro Tape Echo - I still have mine, if I want a clean tape echo I use this. You can control the warbled note via a treble cut knob. Very good feature. No stereo outs though.
MXR Carbon Copy Delay - I haven't tried this one, but I heard good reviews.
I always wanted a Dano, but I can't find them over here. That's strange. THe Boss DD3 didn't impress me, but it was through a crap amp, so it's hard to say.

Well, as far as I can tell, it's the best approximation of a tube tape sound without all the fuss and hassle that's associated with the original units.
Since it's in a shop near you why don't you just go and bring your Silver Jet along and give it a whirl, put it through its paces. If it really slaps you back (HAW!), buy it!
I'd love one, but I don't think I'd use it enough to justify the cost. Plus it's quite large and I don't want to be lugging big effects units to gigs.

Straight, simple answer -- YES.
I've owned several delays including Boss, Maxxon, Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man.... The RE-20 is significantly better than any of them and very close to the sound of the original tape echos. The flexibility and ranges of sounds are so good that I keep it on top of the amp cabinet rther than on the floor.
I would expect others here will chime in as they catch up with this thread. The reactions of owners here on the GDP has been VERY positive.
I just bought a new one here in the states for around $240.
I haven't had time to play with it alot, but, within a few minutes, and a few tweeks of the dials, I got some great sounds.
It's not that big, just like two Boss pedals side by side, and yes, it sounds GREAT to my old ears.
I had a tough time parting with my money for this, but I would do it again.
FWIW, I tinkered with it with my Falcon that has Filters plugged into my Vox AC30CC1 with a "Gold".
Nice tone/effects with that combo.
Good luck with your decision.
They're great units...i don't have one but i've played around with one....and like some others, can't justify the cost. I've heard the Danelectro Reel Echo as well, and it sounds great to my ears...and those PB&J's get a great slap, for quite a lot less.

Hi Konrad,
If you want you can have my Danelectro Reel Echo - it got booted after I got an RE-20 and is now sitting unloved in its box in my loft somewhere
Cheers
Hey Jonhope,
That would be great, but I'm in Poland. The cost of getting it here might be a bit silly.
Hmmm. I may just go buy it. You only live once.
P
You only live once!
!!!
Well, I went and bought it. I'll tell you what I think tomorrow.

Good stuff, Konrad. jonhope, how much were you looking to get for that Reel Echo?
Would very much like to know how it stacks up against the new MXR carbon copy.
I was wondering about that RE-20 myself. I currently use a Visual Sound H2O for my echo needs. The chorus + echo does a pretty convincing tape echo.
Cool beans on buying it. Give us a review!!
I recently bought an RE-20 and pretty happy with it so far.

Mine too. In fact I like the RE-20 so much I sprang for a second one to keep around the house(that way I don't have to dig out my pedalboard every time I feel like some "space echo').

Hi,
Basically as it is of no use to me now I wasnt looking to charge anything for it - just to cover whatever the shipping charges would be - as an esteemed member of this fine forum I would be happy to send it to you at cost - I would rather see it go to a good home than sit in my loft gathering dust
Cheers
Hey guys,
I tried it out at home last night.
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA!!!
It's fantastic. Easy to use. Sounds great. Doesn't change my tone (much anyway). It seems like it makes me relax on guitar.
I'm very, very psyched about gigging tonight.
I'm not expert, but I'm impressed.
Tell me, what settings do you guys use the most on this?
K
Great to hear your enjoying it.
Great link, Jetbunny...
Thanks!

PM sent!
Well, thumbs up for the RE-20 last night. Very, very cool pedal. Gig proven as far as I am concerned. We sounded better than ever as a group, and the sound really added to what we are doing.
Let me tell you, we actually pulled off - I mean really pulled off - Rumble in Brighton. Not just getting through it, but getting the whole room up dancing and yelling even though Warsaw bars tend to be classic rock cover havens that think you should stick to Claption and Bob Marley or else.
Didn't look that way last night.
Great pedal. Added to the sound instead of just being a gadget. I've never played a true analog pedal, but whoa!
Spend the money is what I say.
