Peterson tuner - outstanding service

  1. In these days of too many businesses focussing on making a fast buck... I thought I'd report an example of a US company going beyond the call of duty in supporting its product.

My wife's Peterson tuner failed right at the start of a gig. Screen went blank. Not sure how long we'd had the tuner... but it was probably about 3 - 4 years or so old.

I emailed Peterson... asked if there was any mod/fix I could try myself. Within the day they'd emailed instructions and a photo... but, unfortunately, the fix didn't work out. I emailed them to let them know the outcome... and - without any prompting by me - they promised to send me an entire new circuit board. Took just 4 days for it to get here (about 4000 miles)... came complete with two pages of instructions. Fitted it... and it worked like a dream.

We originally chose Peterson because of the tuner's accuracy... next time we buy - we'll choose Peterson because they stand by their product in a helpful, responsive, 'no-fuss' manner. There are cheaper products out there... but there's more to a product than what you hold in your hand. Great back-up service is something you can only evaluate when something goes wrong... and when a supplier goes out of their way to rectify a problem - regardless of warranty periods etc - that shows class.

  2. good to know...they still take pride in their products and want to be known as a reputable company...bravo

    cheers

  3. I love to hear about companies with proper customer service. I had a similar experience with my Intellitouch clip on tuner. I had purchased it when they first came out and the clip and battery door were pretty flimsy.

When my clamp and battery door broke, I called them to ask if I could purchase replacement parts and they sent them to me free and the tuner was already 5 or 6 years old.

  4. This is what's great about these forums. Manufacturers have to up their game with aftersales or everyone will hear about it. I'm in the middle of an issue with TV Jones, will I report good or bad?
