Looks Like Malekko is releasing another Reverb Pedal

  1. If I didn't already have a Spring Chicken I'd be giving this a look

  2. damn they still refuse to true bypass it. I sold my chiclet because of the hiss it produced with my Onespot. I guess I should sell the onespot. :) transformerless power supplies suck anyway, I've got new religion.

  3. I had the chiclet, which I thought of as a bad impression of the spring chicken - the latter sounded good. Almost as good as my Mr. Springgy.

But these days.......for my non reverb amp, I use a Subdecay Spring Theory. A/B'd it against my deluxe reverb's verb and was quite impressed.

  4. A video. I love the Malekko reverb sound. http://proguitarshop.com/ma...

  5. That reverb sounds quite good! I've been listening to videos of different stomp boxes lately. The one I've been looking at so far has been the Boss FRV-1 '63 Reverb which has some very convincing reverb sounds and the typical 3 knob layout.

  6. I'm really diggin the sound of Malekko's latest Spring pedal. I need a good spring verb

  7. Love Malekko! 616 Delay is one of the best ever! The spring and others from that series are just sweet, especially for the price and Made in USA.

  8. I still love my EH Holy Grail reverbs. For the money they`re great!

  9. read brian b's post @ tdpri regarding the various reverb pedals..good stuff

he might want to post it here as well..interesting

    cheers

  10. I had holy grails before and just had the worst noise issues with the pedals and EH power supplies. Love lots of EH stuff otherwise.

  11. The Subdecay is pretty dang sweet too but the price and footprint of the Malekko.....

  12. My late, unlamented EH Holy Grail was the worst pedal (actually 4 of them, trying to find one that works) I've had yet.

By contrast, the Hermida reverb is as simple and effective as one could hope for. My favorite of the many reverbs I've tried. Coming on strong in this department is a Fuchs "Good Verberations" pedal, another excellent sounding choice. Neither of these is billed as a "spring" reverb, but both sound so good distinctions don't matter much. Besides, I have a Texotica outboard reverb for that spring sound, and enjoy other flavors of reverb too. MD

  13. That's interesting to hear the different takes on the Holy Grail reverb. I had one of the earlier editions and I loved it. In fact, I was in a recording session and the reverb on my Twin Reverb started crapping out. We grabbed the Holy Grail reverb as a backup. This was on a song that had kind of a Chris Isaak "Wicked Game" feel, so the reverb was up pretty high and nobody could tell the difference from the real thing.
