Help me decide on a reamp box...

So I'm back on the hunt for a reamp magic box. Something that will let me take my late night, straight into the DAW hackery and pump it through a real amp (during the 48 minutes per month that the house is empty and I can actually make noise).
So here's a few that a readily available:
Here's one from ART that's pretty cheap ($79.00) and looks OK to this clueless hack. Dual RDB
The forum pros seem to like Radial stuff. I'm sure it's good stuff but is it worth the 2.5x price bump?? They're both like $200

passive http://www.radialeng.com/r2...
There are several others out there...
I'm not really sure how to compare these gizmos as I don't know enough about this kind of thing.
What say ye??

I don't know if you have considered a reamping program like amplitube Fender, http://www.ikmultimedia.com... . It really is very good, and I sometimes use it with a direct feed, even though I have a real 64 twin, a carr viceroy and a tweed deluxe sitting here. There is something great about fine tuning the guitar once you have a rough mix worked out.
You probably don't need a sprcific reamp box, most regular i/o interfaces work fine.

yeah, I've got some plugins for my DAW but it's just not the same.
The thing about the reamp specific boxes is that they take car of the impedance and signal strength mismatching that pops up when you run things into a guitar amp.

They also eliminate ground loops.
Re-amp boxes are easy to make and they cost very little. Here are some links you might want to check out.

I don't know anything about the Radial box, but their passive DI is basically lifted straight off the Jensen transformer site schematic. So there's a strong possibility that it may be very similar to this.

I'm anxious to get into reamping, too. Let us know what you decide on.

Thanks Shuggie!
Someone on another forum showed me this:

Looks pretty cool - and cheap, too

I'm sure that would do the job just fine dave. I built my own and it works just fine. I went with the Recording Mag version because the transformer is cheap and easy to get hold of.
If you can wield a soldering iron and operate a drill I can't see any reason what you shouldn't make one.
Best wishes
Shuggie
