Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I've had a look and can't get a clear answer.
I'm looking to try out Joey Landreth's/Ariel Posen's Open C tuning set-up; this CGCEGC with 17/19-64 gauge strings. I'm thinking of doing this on my Gretsch 6119 on which I've got a Tru-Arc (non-serpentine) and was wondering whether this could accommodate such a heavy set of strings. I've currently got a 13-54 set on in Open D tuning which works fine, but has anyone had any experience with heavier strings than this on a Tru-Arc?

Thanks for your help.
I don't see any reason it wouldn't work. Gretsch users have been using heavy gauge strings for years.
No problem. Heavy up.
