still not perfect in shape ,but I sanded it today at the edges and it looks more accurate now
I think your idea is great, you just need a stronger medium. Thick aluminum or clay maybe. Do you guys have rock hard putty?
That putty won't take movement well, Suprdave. We used it for repairs in concrete. It will crumble as it's not meant to flex at all.
Am I seeing this right---you're attaching the mount so it moves with the strings?
Yes it moves with the strings
And the clou is: You Can Use It On Every Bigsby You Want !!!
Just string changing is a brain surgery right now
take a small rubber hose, worm gear clamp, solder it to the back of the buckle.. done! :)
Thanks, WS, I'll keep that in mind. I was just tossing ideas out there. it looks like that carbon fibre piece should work just fine, for your needs.
Yes it works pretty well!!
Why not use two open clips like these to grip the string bar, between the strings:
A listed size seems to suit the 3/8" (0.375"/9.5mm) string bar.
You could screw them to a small plate to get the distance between them correct, and then attach the buckle to the plate.
The whole assembly would then push on and pull off, for string changes.
Great idea, too !
Solder the buckle to a Tone Twister.
