I was looking for a guitar strap made of seatbelt material that I can regulate in height easily. TyPierce (in the 'how low do you hang topic') said I should go to Couch Straps. I did and it was great!
I emailed them asking if it would be possible to order straps with only a hole, without the key hole.
For years I made my own leather straps because I always was scared that the normal strap (with a keyhole) would slip over the gretsch straplock. I made them with just a hole. Then my last one broke and I wanted to buy some.
Dan from Couch Straps first emailed back saying that the ends of their straps are stamped all at once so it could not be done.
Then a few days later he sent me an email saying that he had a few ends lying around without the hole. So I gave him the correct diameter and he made me some with only the hole. They are super! They work well and will never slip over the strap lock.
Go to the website, they have all kinds of cool straps (not only the seatbelt straps). And he is willing to make them on special order specially for gretsches.
In fact he was wondering if it would be worth it for him to invest in a die just for us gretschees. He'll be reading this, so give him your thoughts guys.
