What are the ending chords to Santo & Johnny’s “Sleepwalk”?

2

My guess is

C - - - - - - 8 10 10 9 8 8

Fm7b5 - - x 8 9 8 9 x x

C13 - - - - - 8 x 8 9 10 x

3

Hmmm, I reckon Cmaj7 8x998x Gmin7 flat5 x.10.11.10.9.x C13 8x8910x

4

8x798x x8989x 8,10,10,9,10,x

voila

5

C6............. Gbm7b5...(then, a phantom G bass note)...then, C6 (Different fingering). C on 6th Gb on 5th C on 6th A on 4th C on 4th G on 5th E on 3d E on 3d E on 3d G on 2d A on 2d A on 2d

Mel Bay chords

Or maybe it's just C-G7-C. I'm old and confused.

That last post did not format right...but, C6 @ 7th , Gbm7b5 @ 9th , C6@ 8th. A "G" bass note comes from somewhere too, I think.

7

Apparently my hands don't work like some of y'all's for a couple of those chord forms

8

C, F, G.

9

I think guitarmike nailed it.

Interesting that the second chord has suggestions of Fm7b5, Gbm7b5 or Gm7b5.

10

Is it dumb to ask what tuning this is based on? I have read differing opinions about what it was.

11

Chords posted here seems to assume that the song is in the key of C, though the original seems to be closer to C#.

Edit: ...standard tuning on guitar. On steel guitar obviously something else was used.

8x798x x8989x 8,10,10,9,10,x

voila

I agree. Except I think the last chord's a C69: 8 10 10 9 10 10. IMO, it kinda looks like Johnny's bending his pinky over the both of the two highest strings too... At least there's a high d-note somewhere in the last chord (impossible to hear in Bear's video because of the applause), but if it's in the guitar chord or a ghost note from the steel guitar, I dunno...

Try listening to the end of this one:

You are right Gretschoholic about the last chord. 8,10,10,9,10,10 And this is exactely the way I play it. But i did not want to confuse people about the extra D on the 10th fret of the first string, I am playing a lot of Gypsy Jazz where many chords involves the use of the thumb on the sixth string, giving "one more finger" for those 6/9 or else.. ( Sorry for my poor english..)
