This is a project I had been meaning to do for awhile. So, I built a pedal board today.
I took some scrap red cedar I had cut the slats, sides and cross supports. Glued and screwed the pieces together.
Finished with some sanding and a few coats of good old Krylon. When it was all dried, cut up a carpet door mat (my only real expense at $9) and glued to the slats. Velcro strips on the back of the pedals stick like glue to it.
Voila, all told probably $14 or so for the mat and velcro roll. I had the rest sitting around (the wood came with the house, though I just used the last of the red cedar).
Looks good man. I've thought about building a board a few times. I'm using a Gator Power Pedal Tote right now, and it's working well, but it's a little cramped. I think I'd rather have one that's wider like yours. The Gator is more square, so things get stacked a lot tighter.
Good work. Are you going to find a bag or case for it? That's another thing that's holding me back. I don't trust my stuff riding unprotected, too many close calls.

I actually have a case (originally for camera equipment, aluminum sides, foam etc) that it fits perfctly in (by design).
A chore and a bit of creativity...worth boasting about. Great stuff! Having 3 layers of carpet leaves room for growth of pedals. I'm guessing the top bleacher height was random, what, about 5-6 inches? Do you find you need to balance a bit reaching up and forward to step on a top pedal?
Nice looks good. I wish I did the same and took some time to build one, first one I bought was junk fell apart. I had to spend some cash and got a pedal train.

And more
And last
Nice! Neat thinking with the carpet idea.

That is pretty clever, the bit with the carpet.

...wisdom
I've been meaning to do the same. I have rough ideas but nothing drawn up yet. Nice work!
