I recently bought a Boss Re20. I think it sounds great but I can't stand that the preamp is still on when the pedal is not engaged. It really colors the dry signal. I hear it and feel it. Will the following pedal I saw on ebay split the pedal from my amp while I'm not using it. I want to keep it on my pedalboard. The only other pedal I have on my board is a Box of Rock distortion.

Sure looks like it will - effectively you are putting the re20 in its own effects loops so when you disengage that loop none of your guitar signal will go through the re20.
