The topic name pretty much calls out my question. I've got a mutant 5120 (w/2 dogear GFS P-90's) that I'm trying to get a bit more low end beef out of it - I play 10-46's and don't want to change the strings. Right now I'm using a standard TOM bridge. Which Tru-Arc might help me out best? Don't get me wrong, the guitar sounds great, but I figure that a bridge swap might be something to consider. Thanks!
Best Tru-Arc for additional "low end"?

My stainless Tru-Arc gives my 5120 some really good deep even response to my ear. I can only compare it to aluminum which I also have and tried. I like the stainless the best out of the two. I found the aluminum to be brighter and snappier, which I don't think you are looking for. The other guys here will have to fill you in on brass, and copper. I do think you will notice an improvement with a Tru-Arc over a TOM whichever one you get. I would recommend one highly.

I agree. I do not have an aluminum (but have heard clips), and can also say I was not interested in brighter and snappier, so I went with stainless and it sounds great!

I swapped a TOM for a stainless Tru-Arc. I can't say it gave me extra low end. It gave more across the whole spectrum.
Might I suggest you raise the pickups with some spacers and/or raise the pole screws on the bass side?

Tim and I discussed a bass bridge for my 6073. We just didn't get past the discussion part. The newer 6073 have an adjustable bridge where as mine is a Space Control It's an 07 model.

Stainless steel on my 5122. I have the GFS Mean 90's on my axe.
Adjust the bass pickup screws to taste. It does take some trial and error to get it all tweaked but it is worth it once it is done.
Good luck!

Can I ask why you don't want to change the strings? 46 is awfully light for an e string, no wonder you're lacking bottom end. I use 11-54s or 11-452s. The sound of your guitar comes from the movement of the strings shaking the guitar body and interrupting the magnetic field in your pickups. Heavier strings have more mass, you'll hear the wood respond more to the strings, and a greater mass of metal shaking around in the pickup's magnetic field has a serious effect on tone.
Even if you got skinny top/heavy bottoms which have 10, 13, and 17 for your high strings, but 30, 42, and 52 on your bottom strings.

Good point Pseudo Man, the fact is I've tried the Light Top/Heavy Bottoms, and didn't notice a huge change in low end - there was some increase, but the tradeoff was the loss of twang. I guess I like standard 10's for the reason guys like Setzer likes 10's. Thanks for all suggestions, guys. As far as the pickups, I do have them shimmed and adjusted correctly to the strings. The stainless steel Tru-Arc sounds pretty cool, might be the way to go! Thanks again!

I've an stainless steel Tru-Arc in my DuoJet and standard 10-46 strings. I'm very satisfied with this combination.

Copper is also pretty beefy in the bottom - and would bring out the complexity of P90 midrange AND tame what can be spiky P90 highs.
It's warmer/fluffier sounding than stainless, which is comparatively harder sounding.
These are imprecise words, of course. You can try one and swap it for another if it doesn't please.
And I can make a bass bridge whenever anyone wants one...

I might trade my stainless tru-arc for a brass one from you for my 125 anni. I haven't got around to putting it on my anni yet. I put a brass 12 string Compton on my Country Gent - 12 and it sounds like a RIC only even better! Compared to the adjustable bridge, the brass bridge has tons more bass and very chimey treble. The 12 string just rings like a bell.
